On Friday the 17th of June, The phoenix project organized a donation of hot food to Sophia’s Way. This was the culmination of 2 weeks of planning and preparation. We started this project by making a list of things we can make. Then we estimated how much we would need and earnt money accordingly. During the 2 weeks that we planned this, we had to improvise a lot. For example, some of the sauces that we needed were not available. So we changed the recipe to the available items. In the end, with our neighbors, we were able to cook for 35 women with a menu of spaghetti, salad, brownies, and garlic bread. From this great experience, we learned to work together and to improvise because not everything is going to go as planned.
